"Eye" Can Do It! - Mathematics Learning Center - 3rd grade
This was a mathematics learning center I created for my 3rd graders. It has three different activities to do inside of the basket. It has a measuring cup activity with marbles, a clock activity and a money activity. All of my supplies I had purchased at Dollar Tree.
Tiny House Building - Perimeter, Area, and Volume
This is a math project I did with my 5th graders. My coordinating teacher and I got it from Teachers Pay Teachers. The students had a great time building and decorating their houses. It was a great way to integrate math into something hands-on and fun.
Inside they had a required amount of 3-D furniture they had to fit in their tiny house. The next few steps were to find the perimeter, area and volume of each piece of furniture. This was a process that took about a week to complete.

Platonic Solids with Playing Cards
I took a Euclidean Geometry class in college and we all chose projects to do at the end of the course. Mine was about platonic solids and how to make them using playing cards. You can find the link on how to create them and the math behind it all, here. Below, I made a cube and a dodecahedron. I also tried to use a different deck of cards from the dollar store that were more flimsy to make an icosahedron, but about halfway through it started to fall apart. So make sure you use a good sturdy deck of cards. After you put them together, or as you put them together, make sure to glue them. I found hot glue was the easiest method for me.
