This particular webpage is a lesson on learning the 50 states. You can download the lesson plans and all of the activities that go along with it. When teaching Social Studies it is important to have visual aids and this website is full of them, whether it’s pictures or videos. This site is good for all types of social studies. When you click on the title it will take you to a page all about countries and many facts and information for them, but this site is loaded with many other things about geography. There is even a page dedicated to "little" kids/toddlers. There is so much to learn on this site. Kids can look at pictures, learn about animals, play informational games, etc. Rader's Geography4kids It's not just for geography for kids, it's for everyone. This site has an introduction to the earth sciences that includes topics on the Earth'sstructure, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere. This kind of geography is not about countries and gross domestic products. Physical geography is all about the Earth and the things that happen on Earth. Humans are only one part of the overall equation. This is a great site for students to go on, they can learn so much and play games to learn too. You can also use it in the classroom as the teacher guides her students through the site. Web Geography for Kids!!! You have to click on this link. This site is packed with everything you can think of for Geography. It has everything for the United States, games, a spot for teachers, lesson plans, etc. It's hard to explain this site, because it's loaded with a ton of cool stuff. Ducksters This site is great for students. This particular link is for geography. It has many countries to choose from to learn about. Each lesson contains four parts: a title page with an explanation of the concept, an activities page with questions to ask students, and two worksheets. You can learn about many different things whether it’s historical or scientific. This particular webpage is on the assassination of President Lincoln. This is an interactive site on the assassination of Lincoln and the students can explore the page as a class or individually on their own. It’s very detailed and filled with tons of information about the event and people who were involved in it. The site itself is good for all types of social studies.
